Immunity for Negligent Treatment Includes What Happens Behind the Wheel

In Griffin v Swartz Ambulance Service, unpublished opinion of the Court of Appeals, issued November 29, 2018, the Michigan Court of Appeals addressed the scope of the Emergency Medical Services Act. The Court held that the Act applies not only to actual medical treatment, but also to any activities by first responders acting within the scope of their duties and training as first responders.
