Ms. Knox attended Michigan State University College of Law, graduating magna cum laude. Alana graduated from Michigan State College of Law’s Trial Practice Institute. She was a member of multiple moot court teams including a semi-finalist for the ABA national competition, was a member of the executive board of Michigan State’s International Law Review, the Appellate Director for the Board of Advocates and served as a teaching assistant for Judge David McKeague. Her article, Film in Crisis: Why Pushing Back Against Censorship Should be a Central Component of US Trade Policy with China and Saudi Arabia was selected for publication in the 2021 edition of the Michigan State International Law Review.
Ms. Knox spent a semester in Kyoto, Japan at Doshisha University as part of the International Business Transactions Program and taught in the law school’s First Amendment Clinic, instructing high school students on American History and the First Amendment. Alana received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University Chicago earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and graduating magna cum laude.
While earning her law degree, Ms. Knox gained experience working as a judicial clerk in the 30th Circuit Court and as a policy intern with the American Civil Liberties Union. Upon graduating, Alana was hired by the firm she summered with and began working in its municipal, litigation, and labor and employment practice groups.
Ms. Knox is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Administrative & Regulatory Law, Government Law, and Young Lawyers Sections.
