Kaitlynn M. Milroy is an Executive Partner at Secrest Wardle’s Troy location. Ms. Milroy joined the Firm in 2019 and is a member of the Firm’s Motor Vehicle Litigation, Premises Liability, and General Negligence Practice Groups. Ms. Milroy has substantial experience in defending insureds and insurance companies in first and third-party no-fault matters including assigned and catastrophic claims both pre-litigation and post-litigation. She has vast experience in handling pre-litigation claims, which include conducting Examinations Under Oath and preparing coverage opinions. Ms. Milroy has been on both sides of the aisle in her practice, as her experience further includes the filing of various types of actions on behalf of insurance carriers.
Ms. Milroy has been named to Super Lawyers Magazine‘s list of Michigan Rising Stars in the area of Personal Injury General – Defense since 2023. Ms. Milroy has also received a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch recognition in the area of Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants in 2023 and 2024.
Ms. Milroy earned her Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2014. During law school, she served as Vice President of the International Law Society and was an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She further volunteered as a student judge in a local teen court program during her law school career, in which she mentored local youth interested in the legal profession and mediated disciplinary matters in the local school district. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy with a specialization in Western European Studies from James Madison College at Michigan State University in 2011. As an undergraduate student, Ms. Milroy participated in a summer study abroad program at the University of London and the University of Edinburgh, in which she studied the politics of the European Union.
Kaitlynn Milroy has been admitted to the Michigan Bar since November 2014 and is currently admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Negligence Law, Insurance and Indemnity Law, and Young Lawyers Sections.
