Roy E. Cole has over 37 years of experience in defense litigation with Secrest Wardle.  During his career, he has represented individual defendants, corporations and insurance carriers in personal injury, auto (third party and personal injury protection benefit claims), asbestos, intellectual property (copyright and trademark infringement claims), environmental (leaking underground storage tank and oil pipeline release claims), commercial contracts and will and trust matters.

Mr. Cole graduated from the University of Detroit Law School in 1985. In 1986, he was admitted to the Michigan Bar and hired as an Associate Attorney by Secrest Wardle.  Prior to becoming an attorney, he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University with a major in accounting.  He worked for an advertising agency as a financial analyst for seven years.  This education and experience has served him well in the practice of law, particularly in analyzing, evaluating and defending against economic and property damage claims made in various cases.

Retired as a Partner from Secrest Wardle on July 16, 2013.

Mr. Cole has been Of Counsel with Secrest Wardle since 2014, handling matters involving commercial contracts and transactional issues, financial analysis of economic damage claims, preparation of wills and trusts, and intellectual property.
