Nicholas J. Carroll joined Secrest Wardle’s Troy location as an Associate in 2025. He is a member of the Firm’s Appellate, Motor Vehicle Litigation, and Premises Liability practice groups.
Mr. Carroll earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy, and a minor in Quantitative Data Analytics from Michigan State University. While pursuing their law degree, Mr. Carroll was a member of the Detroit Mercy Law Review and served on the executive boards of the Student Bar Association, Immigration Law Association, and the LGBTQIA+ student organization, OutLaws.
Prior to joining Secrest Wardle, Mr. Carroll handled immigration issues as both a staff attorney and a law clerk. In their role as a law clerk, Mr. Carroll assisted noncitizens in all areas of immigration, including removal/deportation defense, employment- and family-based immigration, and humanitarian relief. As a Staff Attorney, his clientele were noncitizen children who sought safety from trafficking, organized criminal groups, and varying forms of abuse.
Mr. Carroll is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan, and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Young Lawyers section as well as the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
