Litigation

Members of this subgroup regularly represent our municipal clients in the state and federal trial and appellate courts with regard to land use regulation challenges (taking/inverse condemnation, equal protection, and due process civil rights claims), general tort liability claims, and all other civil matters from contract disputes to declaratory and injunctive relief actions necessary to secure compliance with municipal regulations of all kinds. We have acted as special trial and appellate counsel for various local governments throughout the state, and have been retained on many occasions by municipal groups such as the Michigan Municipal League, the Michigan Townships Association, the Public Corporation Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and the American Planning Association.
