Troy Nicholas Backos joined Secrest Wardle in 2023 as a law clerk and became an Associate Attorney upon passing the uniform bar exam in July of 2024.

Mr. Backos earned his juris doctor from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Justice Frank Murphy Honors Society for his academic excellence.

Prior to law school, Mr. Backos attended Wayne State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. For seven years, he worked as a Physical Therapy Tech with St. Clair Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. His past experience in health care has provided him with a unique perspective on patient care as it relates to his current clients.

Mr. Backos is a member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), a fraternal organization founded to promote the ancient Hellenic ideals of education, philanthropy, civic responsibility, family, and individual excellence through community service and volunteerism.

Mr. Backos is an active member of the Firm’s Motor Vehicle Litigation and Premises Liability practice groups.
