Governmental Immunity

The attorneys in this group defend claims against all types of governmental agencies, including municipalities, counties, school districts, universities and state agencies. Under state law, these claims are brought under one of the numerous statutory exceptions to governmental immunity contained in the Governmental Tort Liability Act, MCLA 691.1401 et seq. The statutory exceptions to governmental immunity include claims of gross negligence against governmental employees, defective highways, government owned and operated vehicles, public buildings, public hospitals, proprietary functions of governmental agencies, and sewage disposal system events.
